WebDec 22, 2024 · Platform software giant FNZ has sold acquired rival GBST to Australian private equity firm Anchorage Capital Partners after the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) blocked a merger between the two firms. In November 2024 it was announced that FNZ had taken over Australian platform tech firm GBST in a deal worth £150m. FNZ was founded in 2003 by its current Group CEO, Adrian Durham. It began as a business unit within the New Zealand branch of investment bank Credit Suisse. This was followed by the expansion of operations to the UK in 2005, and a management buyout of the First NZ Capital Group (formerly Credit Suisse) in January 2009 for a price of NZ$34 million, backed by private equity firm H.I.G.
